Have a Romantic Weekend.
Sigh.Yes I'm alive. Life has been eversocrazy! The Mr. and I jet off head out for our mini-moon on Monday and we are so excited! We've had opposite schedules lately so we're pretty pumped to relax, drink champagne in celebration (at any time of the day) and eat delicious meals together.
I say mini-moon because we're going down the coast a few hours to La Jolla. We had every intention of going on a big honeymoon next summer on our one year anniversary, but with four weddings (and counting) to attend all over the country, we figured we'd do our thang while we can.
We'll be staying in La Jolla at a cutesy hotel on the beach. On our way down the Coast, we'll do a little wine tasting in Temecula and hit up Stone brewery on the way. I've heard mixed reviews about Temecula but I'd like to see what it's like for myself.
Expect good stories and reviews when I return, and if you follow me on Instagram (14emlee), expect cutesy, fun vaca photos!
Have a romantic weekend. Xo

Weekend in Photos
I realize this is late but better late than never!
What a lovely weekend. Friday, the Mr. and I went to a yummy restaurant near our apartment, Fritto Misto and enjoyed some delicious lobster ravioli and sausage and peppers entree.
Saturday morning, I made my first omelette! Yum.
Later, I pranced about Santa Monica, picking up fresh flowers and trying not to pass out from the heat.
I took a stroll into Club Monaco and scored this awesome white, embroidered top with a scalloped bottom.
Which I can't wait to wear with my new boots. Thanks again Nordies anniversary sale.
After a bit of shopping, the Mr. and I met up and were surprised when we received a text from one of our good friends that he was in town with a few friends! So we took a stroll down the street toward one of the best places in Santa Monica, Fathers Office.
Then we quickly realized his friends were at a different Fathers Office..
Woops! So we met up with them at the other one and had an unexpectedly awesome evening catching up with him.
Sunday, after hitting the grocery store and Target, I savored every last minute of the Olympics. One of my girlfriends who just moved back from SF came over for the closing ceremonies and to specifically watch the Spice Girls. How epic were they?!
Have a wonderful week!

Have a Cool Weekend.
The Mr. and I will be spending the evening at a TBD restaurant and I plan on enjoying a yummy, well deserved glass of red wine. This weekend I'll be pretending it's Fall with my new booties, planning some fun activities for the Mr. and my mini-moon, hopefully going on my first hike in LA (even though I've been here a year!) and will lastly be giddily excited that one of my girlfriends is moving back to LA.What are you up to this weekend?
Have a wonderful one. xo

Friends.
Joanna Goddard's husband's article about making friends as an adult really struck a cord with me.
The Mr. and I moved from Chicago to Santa Monica where we only knew a handful of people (some good friends, some acquaintances). We moved from some of our very close friends and family to beautiful weather, a healthier life and where our jobs are meant to be. The chances of us moving back are slim. We've made some friends through our workplaces, but not those kind of friends that we're close enough to hang out with on the weekends.
By the way, I have this weird subconscious problem where I can't get close to anyone at work, I try to but it's so hard for me! Does anyone else have this issue?
Anyway, while the Mr. and I are content and happy spending time with each other, I can't help but be a little sad when the weekend rolls around and we don't have a group of friends to hang out with like we did in Chicago.
Take a look at the article. Let me know what you think.

Bookcase Envy
Awesome news! We got a new desk/bookcase and man are we in love with it. It's so much prettier than our old desk - an eyesore that the Mr. had for many many years. It really makes our space feel far more cohesive and taller. We just love it. Now the only problem is, how the heck should we decorate it?
Here's what it looks like now:
One of my fave Etsy prints.
And here's some of my inspiration:
love how this blends into the entire room
I dig the wallpaper
this one is just beautiful
Which one is your favorite?
